We were delighted to attend the Bristol Post Business Awards this month where every year they discover and celebrate new talent, sharing the success of established companies and people in and around Bristol. As recognition of our commitment to delivering fantastic customer service and working hard to support and contribute to our local communities, we were proud to be finalists for both the Customer Service and the Contribution to the Community awards. Whilst on this occasion we didn’t win we were proud to support a great evening and celebrate so many worthy achievements of businesses within our great city.

Our vision is a culture in which customers and clients have trust and confidence in the way we handle billing, collections and customer relations.  This month I am proud to recognise both Holly and Shirley who work in our Contact Centre for supporting this. Each month we help many customers through our Live Chat channel and this month these comments stood out for us:

“Very simple and quick service, impressed with Holly’s speed, thank you.”

“Shirley, the live chat advisor I dealt with, was very helpful and dealt with the matter quickly and brilliantly”

Health and Wellbeing remains a hot topic for Pelican Business Services and this month and I was delighted to join Amy Kingston and Nick Day on BBC Bristol for their summer Saturday show. It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about our running clubs and other Health and Well-being initiatives that we have here at Pelican Business Services!

June has been an actioned packed month for Health and Well-being with  a cycling theme running throughout. I wanted to say a huge well done to our ‘Pelican Peddlers’ who headed to London with thousands of other cyclists to take part in the British Heart Foundation’s Annual London to Brighton charity bike ride. In scorching temperatures, they cycled 54 miles ending on the Brighton Coast. Congratulations #pelicanpeddlers for raising an amazing £320 for this fantastic cause!!

The cycling did not stop  there, our meter reading teams also joined in on the fun and swapped their normal team meetings for team building spin classes. Mark our Taunton team leader said “it was such good fun and was great to see the team participating in the activities supporting our Health & Well-being charter”

The grand finale to our cycling themed month was a visit from the North Somerset Sustainable Travel Team who bought along their smoothie bike! It was great to see some many team members get involved and use their pedal power to make over 200 delicious smoothies!!

As we come to the end of quarter two, it has been a fantastic three months supporting our local cause Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary.  Our team generously collected food, blankets, toys and much more for both cats and dogs and I was truly blown away with their generosity and kindness to support the local community. Throughout the quarter we also raised a hugely impressive £337.37 for Holly Hedge which will help them in their mission to continue caring and protecting animals in need.

Finally this month, a big thank you to all of the team who supported our Pelican bake off for our delicious cake sale in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, I am proud to report we raised an amazing £105.21 which will go towards vital support and research for those most in need.
